👋 Hi! I’m Orim Dominic. I write code and I write technical content too.

This blog is a repository of my experiences, experiments and musings in my career.

Career

My career in professional web development started in 2021 as a backend developer and up till now (December 2024), I have worked in two companies, doing backend and frontend, depending on the necessity. Something worth mentioning is that in two of those companies, my salary was increased within my first 3 months, and in one, it was increased twice within my first 6 months.

Aside from what I do at work, I

• write technical articles
• am an avid reader
• engage in activities that build the tech communities I’m in

Some of those activities include

• mentoring
• contributing to open source
• writing articles for blogs

I led the teams that built Hirefoster v2 and Zedintro and I contributed to engineering and product management decisions on a couple of other projects.

Although I write JavaScript and Golang, I don’t see myself as a [language] developer. My focus is on using my skills, soft and hard, to provide business value. That’s what matters most - business value.
